Water damage restoration, from the first call to the finished room

Remediate Renovation handles water damage restoration across the San Francisco Bay Area and Dallas–Fort Worth, from water removal to the rebuild, and a person answers our line 24/7. Getting the water out is half the job. Restoration is the whole of it: found, dried, documented, and rebuilt with new material, by one company, on one claim file.

Two halves of one job

Why a dried house is not a restored house

The drying half

The water comes out, the wet material that cannot stay is removed, and the structure is dried until the meter agrees. That is water damage mitigation.

The rebuild half

What came out goes back in: subfloor, flooring, drywall, cabinets, counters. That is the rebuild, and it only starts when the readings say dry.

What you get back

The room as it was, or better, built with new material, and one file that shows every step from the first reading to the last board.

Who you deal with

One company and one phone number for the whole job, so the drying crew never hands you a gap and a new phone number.

What the work covers

What does water damage restoration include?

A real job in Fremont, 2026

One water job, restored from start to finish

Water under a hardwood floor next to a kitchen. Read, torn out, dried, and rebuilt with a new floor and its inlay border.

All 6 photos, one by one
  • Moisture meter reading 999, the top of its scale, on the subfloor under the hardwood
  • Wet plywood subfloor pulled up during the tear-out
  • Air mover drying the opened floor beside the kitchen counter
  • New hardwood flooring going in across the living area, boxes of boards beside it
  • Finished hardwood floor with the inlay border laid again around a column
  • Finished kitchen with the new stone countertop, sink and dishwasher

How it goes

How a water restoration goes, step by step

  1. Read

The meter shows where the water went, and every reading is written down.

  2. Remove and dry

Wet material out behind containment, then drying until the readings say dry.

  3. Scope the rebuild

What came out is measured and listed in a line-item estimate.

  4. Rebuild

New material in, matched to the rest of the house, and the room handed back.

From one real job: Fremont, 2026

How long did one restoration take, start to finish?

March 13

First visit. Under the boards, the meter went to the top of its scale.

March 26 to 30

Containment and tear-out down to the slab, then drying with readings on the slab.

August 21 to September

New hardwood with the inlay border, a new countertop and backsplash, and the kitchen open again.

Every job is different. The drying decides when the rebuild can start, and the rebuild is planned once the readings say dry.

Cost and planning

What sets the cost of a water restoration?

How far the water went

One wet floor next to a dishwasher is a different job from water that ran through several rooms and into the walls.

What had to come out

The rebuild is sized by what was removed: flooring, subfloor, drywall, cabinets.

Questions

What people ask about water damage restoration

What is the difference between water damage restoration and water damage repair?

People use both words for the same thing: getting the house back to how it was. In our work it has two halves. First the mitigation: the water comes out and the structure is dried until the readings say dry. Then the rebuild: what had to be removed goes back in, new.

Do I need one company to dry the house and another to rebuild it?

No. We dry it, and the rebuild is done on the same call. The same photos, readings and estimates carry from the drying into the rebuild, so nothing has to be explained twice.

When does the rebuild start after the drying is done?

When the moisture readings say the structure is dry, not on a fixed day. On the Fremont job the drying ran March 26 to 30, 2026, and the new floor went in on August 21, once everything for the rebuild was in place.
