Air duct cleaning
Booked on its own, or as the last step after smoke or mold work, so the air system does not undo the cleanup.
- Insured
- On its own or after smoke and mold work
- One call for the whole job
Two reasons people call
The ducts reach every room. That is the point, and the problem.
You want them cleaned
No fire, no mold, no claim. You simply want the ducts in your house cleaned. That is a job on its own, and we take it.
After smoke or mold work
The rooms have been cleaned or rebuilt. The ducts still connect all of them, so they are cleaned last.
What you get
An air system that is not working against the cleanup you just paid for.
Who you deal with
If it is part of a damage job, the same call that started the cleanup. No second company to find.
Where it fits
Where duct cleaning sits in a job
On a damage job the order matters. Duct cleaning is placed at the end on purpose.
As a service of its own
Booked directly, for a house with no damage job going on.
After fire and smoke cleanup
Once the rooms are cleaned, the ducts follow. Fire and smoke cleanup.
After mold remediation
Once the material the mold touched has been replaced. Mold remediation.
On the claim, when it is part of one
Included in the line-item estimates in the industry's standard estimating format.
Real jobs
Duct jobs, once they are cleared for the site
We only show work from homes whose owners have cleared the photos. None of our duct cleaning jobs is cleared yet.
Meanwhile, the portfolio has every job that is cleared today.
How it goes
Booking duct cleaning
Call or send the form
Tell us whether it is on its own or after other work in the house.
Timing
On a damage job, it is set for after the smoke or mold work is finished.
Cleaning
The ducts are cleaned through the house.
Paperwork
On a claim, it goes into the same estimate file as the rest of the job.
Why last
Cleaning the ducts first would waste it
Smoke
While smoke cleanup is still going on in the rooms, the job is not done. The ducts wait until it is.
Mold
Material the mold touched is replaced with new first. Then the ducts.
Rebuild
The order is planned at the start of the job, so the duct cleaning date is known early.
Before and after
Duct photos, before and after
A before-and-after of the same duct goes here once a cleared job has both photos.
Cost and planning
What we need to know to plan it
The house
How big the house is and how the system runs through it. We ask on the call.
On its own or part of a job
A standalone cleaning is scheduled with you. On a damage job, it is placed after the smoke or mold work.
Insurance
When it is part of a claim, coverage is between you and your policy, and the duct cleaning is in our line-item estimate.
Before you book anyone
When duct cleaning is worth it, and when it is not
What the EPA says
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency says duct cleaning has never been shown to prevent health problems, and suggests it when there is visible mold, vermin, or heavy dust and debris coming out of the vents. We tell you the same thing, so we make no health promises.
After smoke or mold
This is where it clearly makes sense: soot and spores travel through the system, and a cleaned house with dirty ducts gets dirty again. That is why we put it at the end of a damage job.
Signs of a bad offer
A whole-house price that sounds too low to be real, a surprise "mold test" in your living room, then a much bigger bill. Ask for the price per vent and per system before anyone arrives.

Questions
What people ask about duct cleaning
When should ducts be cleaned?
We clean them in two situations: when you book it on its own, and as the last step after smoke or mold work in the house.
Why clean the ducts after smoke or mold work?
The heating and cooling system moves air through every room. Cleaning the ducts last means the system does not carry what the smoke or mold work dealt with back into rooms that were just finished.
Do you clean ducts in a house that had no damage?
Yes. Air duct cleaning is a service of its own, not only an add-on to a damage job. Call or send the form and we set it up.
Is a license needed for air duct cleaning?
Air duct cleaning, like water mitigation, is work that does not require a contractor's license. Reconstruction and remodeling are different: we do those through our licensed construction partner.
